Which Saxophone is Right for You?
The Alto Saxophone (Most Popular): The standard "starter" instrument. If you are hiring for a school student or a child under 13, this is almost certainly the one you need. It is lighter, requires less air, and is the foundation for most saxophone grades.
The Tenor Saxophone: Larger with a deeper, "cooler" sound. Popular with adults and teenagers who love jazz and blues. It requires a bit more lung capacity and a larger hand span than the Alto.
The Soprano Saxophone: The highest-pitched sax. Often used as a second instrument for established players. While beautiful, we generally recommend starting with an Alto or Tenor before moving to Soprano.

We include a "starter" reed with every hire to get you playing immediately. As you progress, you can purchase replacement reeds directly from our shop.
