Our goal is simple; to make hiring a musical instrument easy and straight forward.

Not only is the process quick and easy, the instruments are from world renowned manufacturers and are professionally set up by our experienced technicians.

Booking, Delivery & Returns

Booking
All bookings can be made by simply selecting your preferred dates using the calendar on your chosen product page. Bookings can not start or finish on a weekend and have a minimum period of seven days hire.

Delivery
All instruments arrive on the start day of your booked hire period. We use Parcel Force for deliveries and they will provide an hour estimated delivery slot on the day.

Returns
Instruments will arrive with the returns label. Simply stick the label over the original and hand the instrument over a Post Office or Parcel Force depot. If you would prefer to return the instrument earlier than the seven day period, its no problem.

Deposit, Payment & Security

Deposit
All short term hire deposits are returned once the instrument has arrived back with us and checked over. It can take up to five working days for your deposit to appear in your bank.

Payment & Security

Our checkout is secure and uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology, and all our payment gateways use military grade encryption and are regulated by the FCA.

Payment can be made using debit or credit card.

Loss & Damage

Loss & Theft
If the instrument has been lost or stolen, this must be reported as such to the Police. The relevant incident number must then be passed to Musical Instrument Hire Co. In this instance your deposit will not be returned.

Damage
Any damage to an instrument should be reported to us immediately. We expect minor marks here and there, but broken or cracked parts, water damage etc should be reported to us.

Instrument Faults

Faults & Accessories
Before any instrument leaves us we thoroughly check everything to ensure it is working as it should be.

In the unlikely event that your instrument arrives with a fault, please let us know immediately. We will do everything we can to fix the issue.

If the instrument is for a specific event we suggest receiving the instrument a few days before to ensure everything is in order.

Maintenance
All our instruments are maintained by us between every hire agreement, and shouldn’t need any maintenance during your hire agreement.

Accessories
All accessories that come with your instrument will be clearly listed on the product page.

Delivery, Returns, & Cancellation

Minimum Hire Period
Pay monthly items have a minimum hire period of three months, apart from pianos which have a six month minimum hire period. After (or during) the hire period the instrument can be returned free of charge. There are no additional costs. Short term hire items (less than one month) have a fixed start and end date.

Returns & Cancellation
All returns are free of charge. We use DPD & Parcelforce for most items, and 1000’s of drop off locations across the UK. Larger items, such as cellos & pianos will be collected from your address.

Delivery
Our delivery service charge is from £4.95 for small items and delivered by the Royal Mail. Large items are from £8.95 and ship with ParcelForce.

Instrument Repairs & Matainance

Maintenance
All instruments benefit from on going care. There are a few simple care and maintenance procedures here that will help minimise any problems you may experience.

Repairs
If your instrument needs repairing during the duration of your agreement, then it is your responsibility. We do offer a free onsite repair service should you wish us to carry out the repair. Carriage charges will apply.

Consumable Accessories
Items such as, but not limited to, strings, reeds, cleaning items etc are not covered under our free repair service. But, you can purchase these items through us at a discounted rate. For help and advice please contact us.

Loss, Damage, & Insurance

Loss & Theft
If the instrument has been lost or stolen, this must be reported as such to the Police. The relevant incident number must then be passed to Musical Instrument Hire Co. We will arrange a replacement instrument for you. An insurance excess charge of £45 is payable.

Insurance
During the duration of the hire agreement the instrument is insured by us. If your instrument has been lost, stolen, damaged beyond repair an insurance charge of £45 is payable.

Buying your instrument

Can I Buy my instrument?
In most cases yes. You just need to let us know and we’ll do the rest. Up to a maximum of six months hire fee contributes towards the purchase price.
Some instruments, such as junior violins and cellos are not available to purchase.

What If I have swapped my instrument?

No problem, no matter when you change your instrument the payments made to date can still be used to contribute towards the instrument.

Payment can be made using Direct Debit or credit/debit card. The payment will be taken monthly until the instrument has been returned.

Changing Your Instrument

Changing your mind/size change

At any point during the duration of your hire agreement you may need to change your instrument. Possibly because the next size up is needed, or simply a change of mind. For what ever reason, no problem at all. Please use this contact form, and we’ll do the rest.
